A beautifully made set of high speed woodruff key cutters comes in a handsome wood storage base. Woodruff cutters are used for milling (cutting or shaping) woodruff key slots in metal materials. Woodruff key slots are a pocket intended to accommodate a key - an element used to connect a rotating machine element to a shaft. The whole system is called a keyed joint.
This 10-piece set includes 1/2" shank American Standard #s 403 (3/8" x 1/8"), 204 (1/2" x 1/16"), 404 (1/2" x 1/8"), 305 (5/8" x 3/32"), 505 (5/8" x 5/32"), 406 (3/4" x 1/8"), 606 (3/4" x 3/16"), 806 (3/4" x 1/4"), 608 (1" x 3/16") and 808 (1" x 1/4").
